About "Love You, Now Leave"

This project is a love letter to my kids, a supportive shoulder for my mom friends, and a helping hand to all parents who might be dealing with similar situations in their families. During the pandemic, I was a single mom with three young adults living with me full-time. It was wonderful to have them with me, but I also wanted them to get out into the world and live their own lives. When the world starting returning to normal, we found that not all of us were ready to pick up where we left off. That's when I started looking for new ways to encourage and prepare my children to leave home.

Over the last several years, through hundreds of hours of therapy, dozens of research articles, and countless challenging conversations, I was able to help my kids move forward and move out. This course is the result of all those experiences, both good and bad. I'm sharing it because I know my family isn't the only one working on launching young adults into the world. The more we share ideas and help each other, the better chance we have of raising happy, healthy adults. I hope this information helps the whole "village."

I'm a college professor with a doctorate in education. I love being a mom, learning new things, and brownies with ice cream.
